The Science of Tapping film was created to introduce and share the science and published research that continues to grow regarding "tapping." This information, while accessible via Pubmed and other research-based resources is not known to many professionals who may be skeptical given its innovative and unique methodologies. The film and website have been designed to be an easy to access resource for health care clinicians, mental health care providers, educators and academics and any other rigorous minded individual who is interested in exploring the validity and efficacy behind this curious stress reduction approach.

What is Tapping?

On the most basic level, tapping is a self-help technique that, over the past 25 years since it was developed, has been steadily growing in popularity. This is due to an ongoing groundswell of success stories by ordinary people trying it out and reporting getting astonishingly quick and effective results - but, more importantly for professionals, its growth and expansion is also due to some pretty impressive clinical research that is not widely published.

Research Supporting the Efficacy of Tapping

Research done in 10 countries, involving 60 researchers, resulting in publication in 20 peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals have demonstrated that EFT is effective for phobias, anxiety, depression, PTSD, pain and numerous other problems. One study, conducted by Harvard Researchers and published in the research journal "Human Brain Mapping" in 2000, found that when the acupoints were stimulated there was reduced arousal in the amygdala which plays a significant role in the body's stress response.
